Darren Krzesnik
Darren is currently an NCAA and HS basketball official. Among his accomplishments include:
38 year member of Idaho Third District Officials Association
4 years as Basketball Director
10 years as Idaho District Three Commissioner
12-time Idaho State Tournament official
2017 District Three Distinguished Service award from the IHSAA
26-year Division 1 Women’s Basketball Official
16-year NCAA Women’s Tournament Official
Darren and his wife Sherri reside in Wilder, Idaho.


Larry Lincoln
Larry grew up on a family dairy farm in Wilder and is a graduate of Wilder High School. He attended Eastern Oregon University and graduated from Boise State with a bachelor’s degree in education and completed his master’s degree in administration from Capella University. Larry was an assistant coach in football and basketball at Wilder and Parma. Larry has been employed by Melba School District since 1994. He has taught multiple Social Studies classes as well Health and Physical Education classes. He now teaches three history classes and then serves as the Vice Principal. In his years at Melba, he has been an assistant coach in football, boys’ basketball, and softball. He has been a varsity head coach in girls’ basketball and softball. He has been an assistant coach on 8 state championship teams in his coaching years. Larry has been officiating basketball since the 1984-85 season, he has also officiated football off and on over the same period. Larry has worked in 15 state basketball tournaments and has worked 13 state championships in football, 1A to 6A levels. Larry and his wife Mindy are proud parents of daughter Mallory and son Lemont, living in Nampa.


Kirk Grothaus
Kirk grew up in Midvale, Idaho and graduated from Midvale High School. He played basketball for Midvale High School and participated in the Idaho High School Boys State Basketball Championship Tournament his Junior and Senior years, while being named to the All-State Team each of those years. Kirk received his associate degree in criminal justice from Treasure Valley Community College. Kirk has officiated basketball in District III for 32 years. He has worked numerous state championship games in Idaho, and one in Oregon. Kirk has officiated men’s college basketball for 14 years, working in 6 different conferences. Kirk has had the privilege of being selected to officiate in the Men’s NAIA, NCAA Division III, and Men’s NCAA Division II national basketball tournaments. Kirk has worked for the Idaho State Police for 23 years and is currently a Lieutenant for the Alcohol Beverage Control Division. He is also the Team Commander for the Idaho State Police Swat Team. Kirk has been married to his wife Heather for 32 years and they reside in Fruitland, Idaho. They have two grown children, Austyn (Lacy) Grothaus, Kourtney Grothaus (Cole Chapman), and 4 grandchildren.


Mike Huter
Brad Schmidt
Brad is a basketball official, basketball publication content provider, and basketball rules editor/interpreter. He primarily officiates at the NCAA Division 1 level but also officiates small college and HS basketball games.
Brad started officiating high school and middle school games in 1994. He is a 31-year member of the Idaho Third District Officials Association and has officiated multiple Idaho state tournaments. He has held the Idaho District Three Rules Interpreter role since 2009 and has assigned the officials for the first two days of the Idaho Boys and Girls state basketball tournaments since 2011. Brad started officiating small college basketball in 2000 and has been officiating NCAA Division 1 women’s basketball since 2003. He has officiated in the past three March Madness NCAA Division 1 women’s basketball tournaments.
Brad is a Contributing Writer and Content Reviewer for Referee magazine, which includes writing most of the “Caseplay” and “Test Yourself” questions published in the Basketball section of the monthly officiating magazine. Brad is also currently a Contributing Rules Book Writer and Editor for the Unrivaled League women's 3-on-3 professional basketball league.
Brad and his wife Judy reside in Boise, Idaho, and have three grown children who live across the U.S.: Kellen (Dallas, TX), Lindsey (Laurel, MD), and Nicholas (Tucson, AZ).
